Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a naturally occurring sulfur compound and nutritional component of many foods. It is found in the normal diets of humans and almost all other vertebrates. The proper chemical name for MSM is dimethyl sulfone.

Scientists have shown that the sulfur content of cartilage decreases as we age, and that this decrease parallels degeneration in the joints. Furthermore, certain arthritis drugs deplete the body's sulfur reserves. Because MSM is 34% sulfur, MSM is a sulfur donor, and has been shown to alleviate the pain of knee osteoarthritis and enhancing the integrity of connective tissues. In addition, MSM has been shown to inhibit inflammatory prostaglandins and leukotriene, thus helping to control pain production.

Benefits
  • Production of collagen, thus improving skin health.
  • For chronic pain and joint inflammation, musculoskeletal pain.
  • Detoxifying the body. MSM makes the cell more "permeable". This means that it allows toxins and metabolic waste products to easily be moved out of the cells, while essential nutrients and hydration can be moved in.
  • Strengthen hair and nails. MSM provides the sulfur needed to produce collagen and keratin.
  • Relief of allergies.
