Amanita phalloides, commonly known as the death cap. It is a deadly poisonous basidiomycetefungus, one of many in the genus Amanita. Widely distributed across Europe.
The extract of Amanita phalloides is amanitin. Amanitins are cyclic octapeptides that stop protein synthesis in the cells they encounter. It blocks RNAP(RNA polymerase II) in all cells. Inhibition of about 50% of this molecule has no effect on normalbody cells, but breaks the activity of tumor cells. The immune system recognizes and digests the latter. It reprograms the tumor cell and reduces tumor cell activity. Amanita treatment showed good results in stabilization of a number of tumor cells, including chronic lymphatic leukemia (Ref: RiedeI.
